The role of finance is changing—not because the numbers have changed, but because of what businesses now expect finance to do with them.
For today’s retail CFO, the challenge is no longer simply keeping pace with the business. It is understanding what is driving the numbers—and what they could mean next. That question shaped many of the conversations at the Retail CFO Summit, hosted by Retail Association of India(RAI), where senior finance leaders came together to examine the realities of leading finance in a sector navigating rapid growth, shifting consumer behaviour, technology-led change, and increasing uncertainty.
Beyond Reporting. Towards Better Decisions.
From sustainable retail expansion and financial resilience to AI, digital transformation, risk management and financial foresight, the discussions went beyond what the numbers were saying to what they meant for the business.
As a Silver Partner at the Summit, FinAlyzer was proud to be part of these conversations and engage with senior finance leaders on the evolving role of finance in retail.
Kishor Tilokani, Director & CTO, FinAlyzer, participated in a panel discussion exploring pressing financial, technological, and regulatory challenges facing the retail sector. The conversation highlighted the growing need for finance to connect numbers with business context, technology, risk, and long-term growth.
Adding another perspective, Sri Ram Kumar, Head of Marketing | Alliances and HR, delivered a session titled “Questioning the Answers,” exploring why finance leaders need to look beyond the answers they have and question the assumptions and context behind them.
Continuing the Conversation
We extend our appreciation to the organisers, speakers and fellow finance leaders who made the Retail CFO Summit a platform for open and meaningful exchange.
One takeaway from the summit stood out: in a business environment where yesterday’s answers can quickly become tomorrow’s assumptions, the ability to ask better questions is becoming a critical part of finance leadership.
For FinAlyzer, the summit was an opportunity to listen, exchange perspectives, and contribute to a larger conversation about how CFOs can bring greater context, clarity, and foresight to business decisions.
The summit may be over. The conversations—and the questions they sparked—continue.
